Fans of Dolly Parton were alarmed this week after the singer’s sister, Freida Estella Parton, shared a post asking for prayers for her famous sibling. The message quickly went viral, leading to speculation about the 79-year-old country legend’s health.
However, a representative for Parton has now confirmed that there is no serious health issue. Speaking to the Las Vegas Review-Journal on October 7. Her manager Olly Rowland explained that the “Jolene” hitmaker is simply dealing with kidney stones and will soon undergo a minor medical procedure to resolve the issue.
“It’s just the kidney stones, and the procedure she needs to resolve those,” Rowland said. “Her sister’s post got blown out of proportion, weirdly.”
Freida later clarified her message on Facebook, writing that she did not mean to alarm anyone.
