Policeman Martyred, Two Injured in Peshawar CTD Station Blast
PESHAWAR | November 10, 2025 —
A Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) official was martyred and two others injured on Sunday after stored explosives detonated inside a CTD police station in Peshawar, authorities confirmed.
According to Peshawar Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Mian Saeed, the initial investigation indicates that the blast occurred inside the station’s armoury, where old explosive materials were kept.
“The explosion appears to have been caused by the detonation of old explosives stored in the armoury,” said CCPO Saeed.
He added that the fire spread to other sections of the depot. Triggering secondary explosions and causing a partial collapse of the building.
🚨 Blast Aftermath and Rescue Operations
Rescue teams from Bomb Disposal Unit (BDU). Rescue 1122, and fire brigade rushed to the scene and began operations to extinguish the fire and clear debris.
“All detainees were safely evacuated from the lock-up,” the CCPO confirmed, adding that the explosion does not appear to be an act of terrorism.
A special CTD investigation team, led by SSP CTD, arrived at the site to gather forensic evidence and review CCTV footage from nearby areas to determine the sequence of events.
Police officials said statements from officers present during the incident are also being recorded.
“The special investigation unit has gathered initial evidence, and clearance operations are ongoing,” said police.
