The Ignite Board, operating under the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT), has approved several major programs to boost Pakistan’s digital economy, support innovation, and strengthen the technology talent pipeline.
One of the most anticipated initiatives is the Prime Minister’s Cloud Program for Startups, which will give new businesses access to global cloud platforms. Under this framework, startups will receive structured cloud credits to help them scale faster, reduce technology costs, and compete effectively in international markets. Officials say the program will remove major barriers for entrepreneurs and encourage growth in Pakistan’s startup ecosystem.
Another key project, Code4AI, will train 7,500 young professionals in Python, JavaScript, and Java, focusing on real-world applications of artificial intelligence (AI). The training will include modules on blockchain technologies like Ethereum, Solidity, and Hyperledger, along with quantum computing fundamentals and prompt engineering, ensuring participants gain future-ready digital skills.
In addition, the Digital Pakistan Cyber Security Hackathon 2025 will take place across six cities. Engaging over 3,000 participants through workshops, awareness sessions, and competitions. The hackathon carries Rs. 6.5 million in cash prizes for top-performing teams, along with international training vouchers worth Rs. 12 million and Rs. 27 million in sponsorships for global cybersecurity events. The initiative aims to help Pakistani cybersecurity talent gain international exposure and recognition.
To promote entrepreneurship in Balochistan. The government will soon launch NIC Quetta 2.0 — an upgraded version of the National Incubation Center.
