Here’s How Pakistani Students Can Study for Free in Japan
ISLAMABAD | November 2025 —
Pakistani students seeking to pursue higher education abroad now have a golden opportunity through the Asian Development Bank–Japan Scholarship Program (ADB-JSP) — a fully funded scholarship that allows them to study in Japan for free at some of the country’s most prestigious universities.
The ADB-JSP supports students from ADB member countries, including Pakistan, to pursue postgraduate studies in key fields such as economics, management, health, education, agriculture, environment, science and technology, and other development-related disciplines.
The scholarship covers full tuition fees, monthly living allowances (including housing), medical insurance, travel expenses, and study materials — allowing recipients to focus entirely on their academic and professional growth.
To qualify, applicants must:
- Hold citizenship of an ADB borrowing member country (like Pakistan)
- Possess a bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Have at least two years of professional work experience
- Be proficient in English (spoken and written)
- Be under 35 years of age, and in good health
📘 How to Apply
- Select your university from the list of ADB-JSP participating institutions in Japan.
- Contact the university directly to obtain application details and scholarship forms.
- Submit your application to the university, indicating your interest in ADB-JSP funding.
- The institution will shortlist and forward eligible candidates to the ADB for review.
- If approved, you will be notified and must sign a scholarship acceptance agreement, pledging to return to your home country after completing your studies.
