Good News for Pakistanis Traveling Abroad on Work Visas | FIA Confirms No New Restrictions
ISLAMABAD | November 2025 —
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has officially denied reports of new affidavit requirements for Pakistanis traveling abroad on work visas, assuring citizens that no new restrictions have been introduced.
The clarification came after a meeting chaired by Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Chaudhry Salik Hussain, following media claims that overseas workers were being offloaded at airports or asked to submit affidavits guaranteeing they would not attempt to enter Europe illegally.
According to an official statement. FIA Director General Riffat Mukhtar confirmed that the reports were false and that no such condition exists. “If any FIA officials are found involved in offloading workers without cause, strict action will be taken,” he stated. Adding that the agency had already launched an inquiry into incidents reported at Lahore and Karachi airports.
DG Mukhtar assured that every worker with a valid visa or Protectorate of Emigrants certificate would be allowed to travel without unnecessary hindrance.
Minister Salik Hussain emphasized that overseas Pakistanis are vital to the national economy, contributing billions in annual remittances. He directed the FIA to ensure smooth facilitation at all international airports and to prevent harassment of legitimate travelers.
The reassurance has brought relief to thousands of Pakistanis preparing to travel to Gulf and European countries for employment. Reaffirming the government’s commitment to protecting the rights and dignity of overseas workers.
