Golden Visa Holders Can Now Get UAE Return Permit in 30 Minutes

UAE Introduces 30-Minute Return Permit for Golden Visa Holders

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) has launched a new electronic service. That enables Golden Visa holders stranded abroad to obtain a single-entry return permit within just 30 minutes. Completely free of charge, if their passport is lost or damaged.

The permit is a digital document valid for one entry into the UAE and must be used within seven days of issuance. However, it cannot be used for international transit through other countries.

Applicants can submit their requests via the MoFA website or mobile application using their UAE Pass digital identity.

📄 Required Documents

To apply, travelers must attach:

  • A copy of the lost-passport report
  • Golden Visa details
  • A recent passport-size photo with a white background

🤝 Collaboration and Scope

This service was developed in partnership with the Federal Authority for Identity, Customs, and Port Security (ICP) as part of a broader suite of consular support initiatives for Golden Visa residents abroad.

According to MoFA, Golden Visa holders are now included in the UAE’s emergency and evacuation plans during international crises — reaffirming the country’s dedication to protecting and supporting its residents worldwide.
