The Punjab government has agreed to help the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration introduce the e-stamp paper system, a digital initiative aimed at modernizing land records and simplifying property transactions in the federal capital.
A ceremony held at the Capital Development Authority (CDA) headquarters marked the signing of an agreement between the Punjab Land Records Authority (PLRA) and the ICT administration. The system will allow citizens to obtain stamp papers online, eliminating manual procedures and reducing risks of fraud.
The initiative was directed by Chief Commissioner and CDA Chairman Mohammad Ali Randhawa. As part of broader efforts to digitize Islamabad’s land management processes. Officials said the e-stamp system will also work alongside the ongoing digitization of land records, ensuring transparency and public convenience.
Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Irfan Nawaz Memon said the move will make property transfers, sales, and mutations faster and more transparent. He added that citizens often face delays and documentation issues during these processes, which the e-stamp system aims to resolve.
Authorities believe this digital transformation will strengthen public trust, enhance efficiency, and help curb corruption in land-related transactions across Islamabad.
